	Dufferin Women in Business Luncheons Mark your calendar's for the following Dufferin Women in Business events. Luncheon's changed to the fourth Thursday of the month. Thursday June 24-Social Networking, Open to Men and Women Thursday July 22-Mary Harvey, Presenting Yourself with Confidence Thursday September 23-Heather Colquhoun, Multi-Gen in the Workplace Wednesday October 27-Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar Corporation Thursday November 25-Jacqueline Sava, CEO of Soadwash Inc.


	Headwaters Shining Star Do you like to sing or dance? Do you have what it takes to be the next Headwaters Shining Stars. Headwaters Shining Stars is a singing and dance contest held in partnership with the Chamber and Headwaters Arts. Auditions for dance are taking September 12th at Studio 3, and September 19th for Singing at Broadway Music in Orangeville. The contest is open to residents of the Headwaters who are 5 years and up. There will be 4 categories for dance and 3 for singing. Those selected from the audition process will compete at the Home and Lifestyle show the weekend of October 1-3. We are the largest networking group in the Greater Dufferin Area, with 500+ members. This allows our members excellent networking opportunities to promote their business.

This would not have been achieved without the active participation of you, our members. It is through local involvement that the Chamber continues to be the leading organization representing the broadest and most inclusive business network in Dufferin County.

	Business Pandemic Plan The Ontario Chamber of Commerce and The Wellington-Dufferin Health Unit are encouraging local businesses to prepare themselves for the H1N1 virus this fall. Despite the fact that the disease has decreased its spread over the summer, health officials warn that the fall could bring damaging effects to businesses if they aren’t prepared. This warning emphasises the importance for businesses to put an Infectious Disease Plan in place, before they are affected by work interruptions from their staff or their suppliers. Most businesses may already have a plan for disaster preparedness, which only applies to tornados, fire, floods etc. To read more on this article. 	Dufferin Women in Business September Luncheon Our next DWIB luncheon will be held in September. Join us for an afternoon of excellent networking opportunities, great food and an informative speaker. Speaker: Heather Colquhoun Topic: Managing the MultiGen Mix "I'll have someone from my generation get in touch with someone from your generation!" Learn how to communicate more effectively with each generation and decrease conflict, improving your working relationships and your productivity. Date: September 23, 2010 Location: Orangeville Fairgrounds Time: 11:30am-1:30pm Prices: Early bird price, $25.00 per ticket for members, $32.00 per ticket for non-members. On or before Monday September 20th 2010 at 4:00PM Tickets can be purchased online under the event registration tab, or by calling the office at 519-941-0490 After Monday September 20th- $35.00 for members and non-members per ticket. On-line payment is now available. Choose the Event Registration button from the left side. Payment can be made by Visa or MasterCard, or in the office by Cheque, Cash, Debit, Visa or Mastercard. A space will not be reserved unless payment is received. Promote your business either book a table space or donate a prize, call the Chamber office to find out more. Non-profit Free, Business Promotional only table: $15.00 door prize (table space is 3t), Vendor Sales Table (full table 8ft): $25.00. Please bring your own table covering. This space must be booked through the office DWIB is a not-for-profit organization within the Chamber where women in business can network over a wonderful lunch, in a relaxed atmosphere.
