The Greater Dufferin Area Chamber of Commerce (formerly known as Orangeville & District Chamber of Commerce) is a thriving, pro-active organization dedicated to providing value added services and benefits for its members. We provide advertising opportunities, act in an advocacy capacity, provide Group Insurance Programs at reasonable rates, and as outlined below serve our members and our community in many leadership capacities. Our membership has grown from 158 in 1996 to over 500 in 2010.

The Chamber, now in its Centennial year recognizes the diverse needs of its Member Businesses and endeavours to develop and successfully execute programs that will service these needs.

The Chamber office receives on the average in excess of 100 inquiries per week from individuals and businesses seeking information on where to shop, tan, get a haircut, rent a car, etc. Our response is to always recommend our members first, and then if necessary, other businesses in the community. Many of our members indicate that the new business that is referred to them contributes an amount greater than their membership fees especially when the business is from a new visitor to the community.

Tourism is another aspect of the Chamber of Commerce. No matter how you look at it, tourism is a retail factor in our community. Tourism means increased food sales, retail sales, services, accommodation, transportation and entertainment. The Chamber of Commerce is continually exerting effort to promote the attractions and businesses in the community, especially its Chamber members, in an effort to realize the full value of tourism as a community builder.

As a member of the Commerce, your voice can be heard, for the local Chamber belong to the Ontario and Canadian Chambers. Each year the Ontario Chamber of Commerce meets with the Provincial Cabinet and presents policies that have been developed at the Annual meeting of the local Chamber. Furthermore, as members of the Ontario and Canadian Chambers, you are entitled to further benefits and up to date business information.
